The historical significance of El Fortin de la Galera is displayed in several languages for visitors. Fortunately the gift shop sells cold drinks as well as some of the neatest models of local boats that we have seen.

Looking down at the beach from the north side of the fort, we saw fishermen using nets to pull in plenty of fish. All those other dots on the water are pelicans trying to help themselves to lunch!
